Preventive maintenance means servicing equipment before it fails, not after.
Where to start
Pick the three machines whose downtime costs you most. For each, list the repeating jobs: inspection, lubrication, filter changes.
Setting the interval
Read the manufacturer’s guide. If a machine is serviced by run-hours, set the interval in hours, not dates.
Record the result
After each service, write down what you found. After a few months those notes show which machine causes the most trouble.
